This office is dedicated in providing leadership and high quality services that improve the safety of the public of Stillwater County. This office works hard to establish the partnership of the public safety agencies of Stillwater County, including fire, police, public works, EMS, volunteers, and more during an emergency. The office of DES specializes in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
We strive to keep you up to date with current issues that may affect the citizens of Stillwater County, and to how to prepare you and your family. Included also are several links to web pages that can assist you and your family.
I encourage the residents of Stillwater County to get ready!
"Get Ready in 2010"
Planning is part of our daily routine. We plan our holidays, weekends. We plan our daily schedules concerning our children and daily tasks. Most of us even plan our visits to the grocery store! Yet, many of us over look planning for one key event that can happen anytime in our lives. That one event, is an emergency. You and your family may or may have not prepared an emergency preparedness checklist or developed an emergency preparedness plan for your family.
The Department of Homeland Security's Ready Campaign is encouraging everyone to Get Ready in 2010. This can be achieved by 3 easy steps:
1. Get an emergency supply kit.
2. Make a family emergency plan.
3. Be informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur in your area and their appropriate responses.
